Hi everyone! I'm researching on my project and I need help cause I have no idea what I'm doing. Apparently I need to create a network setup for around 90 people separated into 5 units in a building to work and share files and also have internet for everyone so roughly I have these questions: Approximately how many switches do I need? Is a single router/modem provided by the ISP sufficient? How many types of server that I need? (Things such as file server, dns server, dhcp etc.) Which network protocols do we use? Advance thanks!

They utilize specific design software, and among the 100 individuals, the design work is handled by a subset of them.

The task was completed, though details were unclear. It seemed to focus on Photoshop.

They are utilizing MAC systems. Besides the designers, other team members handle the five units.

They operate within one structure divided into five sections. Alongside the designers, there would be 15 administrative employees, 2 IT specialists, and 73 designers, making a total of 90 people. They’ll be working on PCs.

We’re making progress. Let’s clarify the details: what’s the project budget? How many computers are required? Will every team member have server access? Should staff be able to work remotely? And what about server backups?

We lack a budget, with every 73 designers requiring a personal PC, while just 5 need to access files remotely. The backup system is still pending.

networking is quite simple—switches with 48 ports are widely available, making it easy to start. the ISP router usually suffices for basic internet needs, though speed depends on your connection. for file storage, you can set up a NAS yourself or use a ready-made Synology NAS, which should handle multiple users smoothly. just ensure it has 10Gbps ports and a compatible switch. overall, it’s not too complicated, but it does cost a bit.
