I built my new pc and few days ago and everything at desktop was fine, all downloads were fine etc, but when I go into any game bar a couple, I get massive stuttering and lag. It's showing that I have high fps. Gpu is 99% utilised, 56⁰c temp, between 2.5 and 10 micro stuttering. The 1% low drops to like 5 fps when it stutters. Cpu is at 46⁰C, 21% utilised. It says my x3dvcahce is running, but i don't know if it's parking the necessary cores. And Norton keeps popping up saying atleast one core was at 100% usage. I'm begging for help, all I do is game and I've been at this for days. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/QpxFKq Edit: Bios, chipset, gpu, Windows are all up to date. And this is my third fresh install of windows. Edited February 13, 2025 by Needfuldoer
Remove your Samsung SSD as it might not be the issue, though those drives aren't the most reliable.
As much as there's a chance of anything else in the PC is faulty, including the OS yes. Funny how you immediately went for the Samsung SSD right off the bat. I doubt the only problem is just micro-stuttering in games if the SSD is that faulty its affecting the running softwares, especially if it's the OS SSD.
I've adjusted all configurations, including toggling v/free sync and lowering resolutions. Adrenaline remains consistent; I've tried various settings. So far, I've played 4 games. Gary's mod for 7 days to die Warzone and FC 25 both deliver excellent performance with high FPS, no stutters, and top quality. Regarding Warzone and 7 days, they maintain high FPS but suffer from stuttering and lag. Norton mentioned at least one CPU was at 100%, but my NZXT Kraken screen showed only 30% usage with 45°C. Removing the SSD isn't possible—it's my boot drive and would need a full Windows reinstall. I'm unsure if the problem lies there since two of the four games are working well, and my previous SSD setup performed fine.
It seems unclear where this information originated. I've run three reinstalls and didn't notice Norton mentioned anywhere. It just appeared claiming 100% usage on at least one CPU. With the revo uninstaller, should I remove Norton?
Keep in mind, you've reinstalled Windows multiple times and still encounter a strange Norton warning. Make sure you're using the legitimate Windows installer.
