Some antivirus programs require unique steps to completely eliminate issues. For instance, McAfee typically offers a dedicated uninstaller tool on their site.

It seems the software likely auto-installed from your Gigabyte board. A driver list was available in the Gigabyte Control Center, but you didn’t use that program. The installation source is unclear since the software wasn’t installed manually.

You just ran the revo uninstaller, now checking for any changes. If necessary, I’ll perform a clean Windows reinstall tomorrow and ensure Norton isn’t installed.

I used the revo uninstaller to remove all traces of Norton, and after seven days it seems to function perfectly... so far. I plan to leave a review about my motherboard, reminding others not to auto-install drivers and to keep Norton unchecked. Thanks for the advice. F**k Norton.

This approach is still questionable from a legal standpoint. It would be better if accidental installations weren’t possible. I hope Microsoft would enforce penalties against companies using this tactic. There should be no forced bundling, but at minimum users must actively choose not to install it.
