Good morning everyone. I've been experimenting with my son's HP Pavilion Tg01-0018 RAM timings. He got a 2×8 (16GB) 3200 CL16,18,18,38,56 set from Ripjaws 5 Hynix CJR RAM kit. Obviously the Pavillions motherboard is an Erica2 (8643) brand, proprietary. I've tried various settings to lower the case to 16, but it keeps crashing with black screens and forces a CMOS reset. Right now it's stuck at cl18,17,19,18,34,54 and I've adjusted all secondary timings. I'm not an expert, so anyone have any advice on why I can't get the latency to 16? Could it be the motherboard, the CPU (Ryzen 5 3500), or something I'm doing wrong? I don't have any useful info about the motherboard, so please help me out. Thanks in advance.

It might be your CPU and the motherboard. I'm still stuck at 18°CAS, even after many attempts to assist. When it finally booted, my voltage was 1.45 and there were over 200 errors. I guess they'll be satisfied with the performance anyway.

Yeah, I think your right. I think it's the motherboard but it could also be the processor. Also it may be possible that the ram won't even run at the cas# assigned. My son could care less but I just like to get the performance I paid for. Thanks for the input.

The actual voltage for RAM is determined by the motherboard specifications, not just the HP MBs.

The RAM voltage is 1.2 xmp 1.35. All the info apps confirm it's enabled and supported. I've been using it at 3200mhz 1.35 for more than a year. The main issue is setting the clock below 18. I'm planning to replace my motherboard, power supply, case, and GPU. I'm tired of dealing with HP proprietary issues. Appreciate the help!
