Need help with how to upgrade gaming pc/ improve pefrormance
So I am looking to upgrade my gaming pc and am looking for recommendations to increase fps and reduce stuttering.
Here is the link to my specs:

I would like to be able to run most games at max settings at a smooth 60fps and am wondering how I can improve my current build and which parts would be best to upgrade.
Thanks.
With your i7-8700k processor, which is powerful enough for almost any graphics card, I’d recommend a 2080 Ti. Definitely get a larger SSD so you can store all your games, and consider upgrading to 32GB of RAM – though that probably won't make a huge difference in the frame rates, it would be great to have. You don’t *need* the 2080 Ti; a 2060 would work really well too, especially since it’s one of the best graphics cards you can get right now and should still be top-tier for the next couple of years, considering you're coming from a 1060.
yep
my bad
i was talking to another person who mentioned 8700k and it got stuck in my had.
Well i honestly do not know what would be a major improvement to your pc.i5-8400 bottlenecks everything beyond 1060 so if i were you i would change i5-8400 to i7-8700k and get a 1080ti/2060/2080ti (depending on your budget). That would drastically improve your performance, but with that comes the price of 1000$ or more depending on where u live, that is if you are buying new,if your are buying used you can get it for like 600$-800$ dollars
Lots of folks believe AMD chips are superior for CPUs, and that makes you wonder if they’d be a more budget-friendly choice too?
Seriously, I was just wondering why you hadn’t considered swapping the motherboard – it actually works perfectly with your 8700K! If you were really looking for a performance boost on the AMD side, take a look at this build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/DjerizCiga...iew=rgpLP6
Is the Intel i7 still a solid choice compared to the AMD CPU you suggested? I’m mainly curious because it might be more affordable for me. My current computer struggles with Minecraft – it only manages about 50 frames per second, and that's without any shaders or modifications.
I ended up going with the AMD build and the Ryzen 7 3700x – they’re really comparable when it comes to gaming. Honestly, the 3700x would absolutely dominate the 8700k in tasks like video editing or anything that really pushes the CPU, except for gaming itself. The 8700k still has a slight edge in those games, so if I were you, I’d stick with it and not bother switching to the AMD platform – you wouldn't want to swap out the motherboard and faster RAM just for it. Plus, you’d get way more performance from overclocking the 8700k; the changes would be much more noticeable compared to the 3700x.
