I'll take it and receive another kit that avoids the 4000 APU due to the quartered cache issue. Even when running at 1:1 FCLK (4400-4600 DDR4 for Renoir), it still can't match the 8MB cache available on a 3600(X)). If you need that setup, adjust the RAM timings to 4400 to prevent underperformance versus a 3600(X).
I don’t think they’ll allow me to return it since I bought it back in December, but I just didn’t have time to assemble it. I finally had a chance this weekend and now I’m seeing the problems. I’m a bit puzzled—will a 4400 work with dims set to 3600 CL18? Also, I think it’s the 3600 speed that’s triggering the restarts because at stock 2666 it seems to run smoothly. I’ll do some more testing to confirm. Anyone know how to check if RAM is the cause? Maybe a crash log exists for review? Thanks!
Binning is only important when there are inconsistent iocs. There’s a reason some budget OEM 2133-2666 models can reach high speeds (4000+) while others hit a cap around 3200 or 3600. You can share a screenshot of the thaiphoon burner to spot RAM iocs—they’re likely capable of 4400+. Also, XMP not working should be considered a fault, which might allow you to return the item.

It seems my CPU might not be powerful enough for the 3600 MHz frequency.
