You can connect a 6-pin PCIe extension cable, but make sure it matches the correct power connector location. The top-left connector is likely for the CPU power, so verify compatibility before plugging it in.

The 6-pin version is exclusive to GPUs, while CPUs use separate 4 and 8-pin connectors.

Ensure the 24 Pin ATX port is used for the motherboard power, while the top-left power plug serves only the CPU.

The 8-pin EPS12V connector above and to the left of the CPU socket isn't compatible. The pin layout differs on a 6+2 PCIe connector, which is designed to avoid this setup. You can't use it because the ground and +12V pins are positioned oppositely. Although both connectors operate at 12V, their pin arrangements don't match up.

He doesn't seem to understand the request (it's impossible to fit an 8-pin connector into a 24-pin socket). The question is whether a 6+2 PCIe adapter can replace the 8-pin CPU power connector, though that isn't feasible.

Your motherboard supports both 1x8 and 1x4 connectors. Using only the 1x8 cable should work fine, even without the 1x4 plugged in. For overclocking, it’s best to ensure proper power delivery and stability; having the 1x8 connected can help maintain consistent performance.

Use the 8-pin connector; the additional 4-pin isn't required unless you're pushing the system to maximum overclocking.

Sure, I can help with that. Overclocking CPU, GPU, and RAM can be risky—make sure your system is stable before doing so.

Yea it will be fine, the 8 pin is rated for like 300w, which is plenty for any rzyen chip on air or water cooling.

Absolutely, you'll be okay. If you need to raise those questions, it's clear you're not planning to go all out with extreme overclocking. You could try methods like using ice or liquid nitrogen to drop temperatures below freezing, tweaking BIOS settings and motherboard configurations to boost voltages beyond safe limits, and adjusting hardware components accordingly. The 8-pin connector works for all processors, including those used in amateur overclocking setups. GPU and RAM are connected via separate cables, so using just the 8-pin CPU connector won't interfere with them.
