Need assistance with your Minecraft server? Let me know how I can help!
Hello everyone, I'm working on building an MC Server. They said the hardware needs isn't too much, so I assembled it using parts I already had. Server specs: Intel i5 6600K, 16GB DDR4 RAM, AsRock motherboard, WD 770 1TB NVMe SSD, and Windows 10. The main issue is that no matter what I do, my server keeps lagging—sometimes over 2 seconds behind. When I tested with friends, everyone agreed it was slow and stuttering. It started on an HDD but moved to an NVMe drive, yet the problem persisted. Some suggested using Java 8, but I'm using Java 13. I've tried various fixes but don't know what works best. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
You've set aside a certain amount of RAM (check the stats in the interface). The Java edition you're using is available. To operate the newest server version, you'll require the most recent JRE or JDK, specifically JDK 23.
I haven't looked yet. I'll have to run it soon when I find a spare moment.
Remove all Java versions (installation from control panel is simple), and set up JDK 23 (avoid installing JRE). Version 1.21 is no longer supported. Upgrading might be unnecessary—4 GB should suffice. You have ample storage, so allocating more isn’t a problem. It seems odd, but if the issue relates to Java, it shouldn’t be this symptom. Check the task manager for unusual activity, watch CPU speeds and temperatures, and restart Windows if needed. Alternatively, consider running the server on Linux instead of Windows.
Haswell has its share of users; if you're seeing high numbers it might be straining the system. Boost the memory allocation to ease the load. Also, monitor temperatures—old hardware could mean the paste job is stuck. Look for errors in Event Viewer or the MC logs for any issues.
I expect about 15 users online at a time. I plan to test Java version 23 and check its functionality. Updates will be posted soon!
