In short, I'm attempting to run Ubuntu Desktop on a Dell XPS 9560 with 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, and GTX 1050 graphics. The system boots from the USB using startup options nomodeset and pci=nomsi. It works initially but gets stuck after a second restart. I've attached photos for reference. I've tried various solutions and am feeling frustrated.

The GTX1050 should work without a nomodeset if you're using version 18.04 or newer. It includes built-in Pascal support via the open-source Nouveau driver. Are you on an older release?

Without this, everything would stop or cause errors

You're really struggling and frustrated—what went wrong? It sounds like you put in a lot of effort and it didn't go as planned.

Consider setting up Ubuntu MATE instead, as mainline Ubuntu appears to have some issues right now.

The archive contains extensive resources about the XPS series. This information is meant to be broadly applicable, not tied to Arch Linux specifically. You may find useful details on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dell_XPS_15_9560
