The temperature of 79 degrees is quite high while idling. Is this happening immediately after gaming? Also, does your laptop feature an AMD dedicated GPU or an Intel CPU? If yes, it should be utilizing that specific GPU.

After ten minutes of inactivity, the temperature is around seventy-five degrees. I’ve been running GC on my laptop.

It might be due to dust accumulation, a malfunctioning fan (is there a way to check its speed?), or worn-out thermal paste on the GPU. Once confirmed clean and the fan operates normally, disassembling it could be necessary to replace the thermal paste.

If temperatures are higher than usual during gaming, it could be due to thermal throttling. Using AMD Afterburner might let you monitor or display those temps in real time. Typical idle temps should hover near about 50°C, though this can vary with your laptop model.

112 degrees C is clearly a sign of overheating. These temperatures are far from ideal.

I also have a desktop PC that doesn’t handle temperatures above 60°C, and the GPU stays under 70°C. That confirms these are serious issues.

It might be wise to reapply thermal paste.
