Hey there, so I went through some testing on my 3800x with R20 Singlecore & Multicore. I tried PBO on Auto + XMP 3600Mhz and CL16-19-19-39. Then I enabled PBO again with 200Mhz Auto OC plus XMP 3. All my results were pretty close—scores like 4834/510, 4894/506, 4887/511. In the second and third setups, my early runs were low (~4700 and ~4600), but after a few tries they matched the speeds I posted. That confused me because I thought it would help, but it didn’t actually improve things much. I guess I was just getting used to it. After some digging, I realized iCue might be affecting my scores everywhere. Still, it doesn’t explain why my numbers stayed low overall. I’d expect steady gains but ended up with lower averages. What other tweaks can I make in my Asus BIOS to boost performance? I noticed options like Performance Enhancer with levels 1, 2, 3 OC. Should I explore those? Also, what’s the typical range for scores on 3700x/3800x with or without PBO? And I’m new to tuning RAM processes—what adjustments should I consider? I won't be a lot of help but with my 3800x at stock and RAM at stock I got 4,925. And for shits and giggles I OC'd my CPU to 4.4GHz at 1.45V with my RAM at 3200MHz and got 5,002. But I'm a lazy overclocker so I can't really help you much. I actually just decided to leave my CPU at stock and set my RAM to 3200MHz and that's how it's staying, I'm favoring stability and lower temps. But I am following this thread to see what others say! EDIT: What happens when you put everything to stock? I just got a 4,852 with a ton of background programs running, and a bunch of open programs.
I found out that adding stock with PBO seems to be the best option now. I tested it at 4.35Ghz with 1.2875V and achieved good results. I'm keeping an eye on community advice. Also, could I try running PBO at a lower voltage? I noticed that lowering it to 3.9Ghz at 1.2V helped stabilize performance, especially when the temperature was around 56°C versus 70-73°C for stock.
I understand first-gen Ryzen RAM speeds and timings don't significantly impact CineR20 scores within measurement error. It's unclear if Zen2 behaves identically, but I've checked across a range from 2133MHz CL14 to 3600MHz CL18, testing all intermediate frequencies.

In my testing, frequency takes priority over timing when boosting FPS in CPU-limited games. For consistency, I manually adjusted timings and ran a Cine test to confirm stability. I own three dual-channel setups—2133mhz CL14, 3200mhz CL16, and 3600mhz CL18—and tuned each to the sweet spot between them. The Cine margin was negligible, so no major changes needed. Currently, I’m using the 2133mhz model with the 3600mhz up/downclocked on a 2666mhz CL18 32GB system for a demanding title that drains RAM. Cine doesn’t notice much difference.
For optimal performance, close all apps except essential processes (like the task manager) once you’re sure CPU usage stays under 1% and won’t spike after a reboot. Set programs to Real Time mode. This may cause the PC to freeze temporarily, but it unlocks after the CineR20 completes, allowing you to see results without seeing the graphics. After that, you can close the program and press the RUN button while it’s off-screen—this lets you rack up extra points (often 60–100).
Keep repeating these steps for those final bursts of score. Just remember: your PC will lock during the test, but it won’t stop once the process finishes.

You can adjust the "Performance Enhancer" to level 3, which lets your CPU use more power and keep boost clocks stable during heavy use. However, the gains will be modest—third generation Ryzen chips are already highly efficient at their base speeds, and only a few MHz extra won’t make a big difference. I turned it on just because it’s available, not because it offers a significant performance boost.
