Need assistance with gaming and streaming? Vc?
I want to reach out to anyone with expertise or insight who might assist me in fixing several performance problems I’m facing with my computer. I’ve tried to fix the issues on my own without much success. Below, I’ll share a comprehensive summary of my system details, the challenges I’m facing, and the solutions I’ve already tried. I may also need some guidance on adjusting the OS settings if anyone has any advice.
Welcome to the community, fresh face!
A major issue I’m facing is that my C: drive (HDD) is frequently operating near full capacity. This is noticeably affecting overall system efficiency. It could indicate a memory leak that has persisted since Windows 8. The best solutions are either restoring the system before the problem began or performing a complete OS reinstall. Be aware, you’ll need to rebuild your bootable installation file for your operating system to ensure no corrupted files remain.
System Specifications (Viewed in Task Manager)
Processor: 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11700K @ 3.60 GHz (Hyper-Threading active)
At startup, I see 151 processes running even with minimal apps open (Discord, Task Manager, Google Chrome). While both Discord and Chrome can consume a lot of resources, this level still feels too high.
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3000 MHz (2 x 8 GB modules, XPG Gammix D10)
Currently, I’m using 16 GB of RAM, but I’ve heard upgrading could significantly boost performance, particularly for gaming and multitasking.
Storage:
Disk 0 (C: Drive) – HDD (primary drive for OS installation)
Disk 1 (D: Drive) – SSD (general use and some apps)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti
Motherboard: MSI Z490-A PRO
You might format your details like this:

Please include the age of the PSU, the BIOS version for your motherboard, and the side panels removed from your case. You should also share screenshots of the stickers on the PSU. Images can be posted to sites like Imgur for reference.
Based on what I see, a secondary SSD would likely help. I usually keep a small capacity SSD for OS, apps, and launchers, while using a larger one for games. The HDD remains for general storage. A screenshot of your Disk Management view would be useful.
Additionally, investing in a 2x16GB DDR4-3200MHz to DDR4-3600MHz RAM kit with low latency could be beneficial, especially if you’re on the optimal speed range for your system. Depending on your region, the price of this RAM might be comparable to a DDR5-6000MHz option.
Refresh the bios and consider updating the chipset driver if necessary. Installing an SSD will resolve several issues.
Resetting the PC to SSD with hope. Looking for the chipset driver info. Couldn’t locate the motherboard in the device manager—system devices. Also, do you know anything about BIOS updates that might break the motherboard? If so, what would happen? I’ve attached a picture of that section.
Not finding an apps area though I explored the device manager more thoroughly and checked Google, possibly in the pictures shared by OP. The driver date appears to be 07/18/1968.
Just found myself still blind on July 18, 1968, during a driver's date.
