Hello, I have the Lian Li 216 with default fans plus two extra Bionix F140 top fans. I experience some vibrations and a faint humming when opening windows or navigating browsers. The CPU cooler is the Noctua NH-D15 with two fans. I’m concerned about overheating—both the case top and the RTX 3080 heatsink feel warm. My main goal is to fine-tune the fan curves in BIOS, but I’m unsure how. Should I add a bottom fan under the GPU? Here’s my HWINFO after about 5 minutes of use and 30-45 minutes of Overwatch 2. Could you help assess if this is normal? What adjustments would be best? Would you suggest any stress tests? Also, did you include the BIOS fan settings?
Do these temperatures appear on the GPU after running Overwatch 2? If yes, then this looks much better than before. It really performs well! However, if your top two fans are blowing out, consider flipping them to act as intake fans, which could provide more airflow for the NHD15. Overall, everything looks fine.
Thanks for the update. All the HWInfo comes from roughly an hour of runtime—about 10 to 15 minutes on desktop plus browsing, plus around 45 minutes playing Overwatch 2. I kept it running in the background all the time. I’m worried about turning it off as an intake; that would leave only one exhaust and cause the GPU to heat up a lot. The Noctua cooler is also getting hot because it’s near the GPU. Would it be a good idea to add a bottom intake (around 140mm for the GPU)?
Adjust the fan curve until it feels comfortable, and you'll be fine. Lian li recommends good fans with the 216 rating—no worries there. This should lower your CPU temperatures. Consider running a stress test such as Cinebench R23 for CPU and FurMark for GPU to check performance.

I looked up hwinfo for my basic requirements and think my CPU and GPU are working well, just like you mentioned. It’s a bit strange how the fans spin really loud at 1000 RPM, especially when the CPU temperature hits around 50°C and then drops. I wonder if lowering it a bit would help keep the RPM steady at higher levels. My previous case with seven fans was much quieter than the current five.
If you're looking to download the stress tests, you have flexibility in choosing. You might try a game of your preference for testing it. Do you still have those fans? It could be the off-brand 140mm ones you added at the top. Probably not necessary. Consider getting a five pack of p12s/p14s instead. A 50°C rating is quite safe, so you shouldn’t be concerned about that. What CPU model do you have?
The CPU is a Ryzen 5700X. The extra top fans are Arctic Bionix F140, which they claimed would be quiet. Right now, the loudest noise comes from the dual noctua fans, though I’m not sure. I’m considering swapping them out, but I wonder if placing a bottom fan under the GPU might help. It could reduce dust and improve airflow from the front fans, but I’m not sure.
Did you adjust the fan curve? It’s possible the fans are running at full speed continuously, which could cause the front units to handle more load than needed.
Thank you for your feedback. I have standard and PWM fans set up. Would you like an extra 120mm rear fan for the GPU? I can install it outside the Lian Li 216 case. I’m concerned about turbulence and heat distribution, especially since the GPU gets very hot and the top fans might push heat away. I’m worried your CPU stays too warm—temperatures often reach 58-60°C in Windows or while surfing.
You might have installed the CPU cooler incorrectly. Consider repositioning it and verifying the thermal paste placement. You're referring to the intake area? That should mainly influence your CPU temperature positively. It doesn't seem necessary to adjust it at the GPU back. You already have one there, right? That should be sufficient.
