Need assistance with 5900x?
I recently moved to an AMD build: 5900x Aorus x570 master G.skill Trident 32g (2 2x8) 4000mhz kit Asus 3070 dual 8g SS 750w psu H150i capellix 011 dynamic case with 9 unifan. Fan and cooling setup: Aio top push/pull exhaust, bottom/side intake. Issue: Unstable performance. I’ve tried PBO CO with negative offset at 20% but it’s unstable. Used AMD Master, then Creator, then auto OC – it worked for a few hours, even 15 minutes of Prime95. I have an MC 22104 but crashes during gaming with titles like PUBG, Apex, Underlords, Dota (especially at low settings). At idle I see 49-60°C, load up to 93°C. During gaming it drops to 49-55°C at 91% load, fans still kick in. Any advice? Lower temps with solid MHz and quieter build? Thanks! (From the Philippines)
Does it cause a blue screen or just a blackout? Your infinity fabric clock should hit 2000mhz. You’d need to run RAM and IF clocks in sync, meaning 4000mhz DDR RAM speed should target 2000mhz on the IF. If you turned on docp, that’s it. Also: is the system stable when you don’t enable OC (PBO or otherwise)?
I experienced double boot, but mainly blackouts and restarts. Occasionally freeze or crash, though windows remain unaffected. I believe setting the frequency to 2000mhz is necessary. I’ll verify that. I’m currently on duty. I expect most help will arrive soon, allowing me to implement the changes. Any further advice? I’m quite concerned about my idle temperatures—are they truly that high?
Those high idle temperatures are typical for the Ryzen 5000. Did you turn on PBO when they occurred?
I've seen that too. What are the standard settings? My readings seem high. It might be because I'm in ph... plus, the fans get more active when I switch to balanced/pwm mode. Setting it to quiet makes it less stable...
