Are you connected to a LAN with a server? It could be that the server is adjusting the time and spreading it across the network.

i have to update it from the internet periodically. the pattern is very unclear! sometimes it moves an hour back, other times just a few minutes! generally the clock change happens more in the mornings and evenings, and then the problem disappears. i don't have macos installed; i just ran the installation once and exited, but it didn't install properly! maybe i should try re-installing windows? but there seems to be a hardware issue since the clock stops when the pc is off.

I still don’t understand! Is your PC completely broken? What kind of issue are you facing? I’m not sure what this error means.

The issue is that the clock becomes inaccurate when the PC is powered off.

Explaining the situation further:
If the PC remains on but is completely disconnected from the network and internet for a few days, does the time continue to shift?

You might want to check the Reliability History/Monitor for any error codes, warnings, or events that precede or coincide with the time changes.
Reviewing the time line could reveal patterns, such as more frequent changes in the morning or around noon.

Other useful resources:
- Task Manager – search for any unfamiliar processes running at startup.
- Task Scheduler – check for triggers that might cause time adjustments.
- Process Explorer (Microsoft, free) – investigate unknown or unexpected processes.
Follow the guidance to record each time change and note the exact duration of the shift.

Solved! I reverted the bios with a screwdriver, and it was listed in the manual.
