the system runs smoothly but feels outdated. upgrading to an i7-6700k and more memory would be a solid move, especially with the current specs.

Join the discussions here! Your decision will hinge on local pricing for components. The i7 6700K runs slower than many budget options, making it more sensible to purchase it at a reduced cost rather than buying brand-new parts.

I’d likely invest in a fresh CPU/motherboard/ram bundle, plus a power supply and case with an SSD. Nm, save up for a new machine. Consider bringing the 1070 as a temporary fix until you can afford a GPU. Was it a prebuilt unit? Either way, your current CPU is over a decade old—anything that fits will be outdated in just a few years and won’t perform well today. In short, if it doesn’t meet expectations, nothing you can upgrade will help. Unless you’re planning to add another 8GB RAM and switch to a SATA SSD (assuming you only have traditional drives). That’s roughly all I’d suggest for now. Sorry.

The CPU expense was approximately 50 dolalr. It is worth noting that the CPU price is around 50 dollars.

Consider your needs and usage to decide between 30 GB and 16 GB RAM.

Only 16GB available. Consider adding another 8GB unit or a matching stick.

Let me know if you want to test it out. It should work well with those game settings.

If my motherboard supports it, I could purchase a Ryzen 5 5600X from Skybay Lenovo
