It doesn't work. Your motherboard is limited to CPUs from that era, specifically the 6500 and 6700K. The top CPU it can handle is the 6700K.

No, I wouldn't suggest swapping it for another CPU. The i7 6700K is a strong choice for most needs.

If the price is better, you might choose the standard i7 6700 without the K suffix. Their performance is almost identical. If not, you'd have to replace everything with a fresh setup.

Upgrading your existing setup is likely to waste resources. I’d save money by choosing a more modern used system or components instead. A 6th generation CPU is already outdated after about ten years. Adding a newer GPU wouldn’t help much because it would create a bottleneck, and improving the CPU with the same board only offers minor gains in games. I’d consider replacing the motherboard, CPU, and RAM first, then upgrade to a new GPU and possibly a better PSU once you have sufficient funds.
