I know this might not be accurate. The TV is supplied via a separate cable, while the digital TV box requires a direct connection from the modem—likely through any Ethernet port. There’s no official certified TV port; it seems they added security measures, possibly encrypting the line. I think a switch could help, but I’m open to a managed solution if it guarantees reliability. The main challenge is getting an AP or switch that works without interference. Recommended options would depend on your setup and budget.

What is your spending range? A wireless router that switches to AP mode should suffice. For roughly $70, the Ubiquiti airCube-AC (non-ISP version) is a solid choice. It lacks some advanced router capabilities compared to other systems, but it performs well as an AP. Be aware it features four LAN ports, and you can add more with an unmanaged switch.

Avoid Huawei products entirely. I was quite upset when I discovered the Honor Router 3 in Access Point mode doesn't connect to LAN ports at all. It seems to work in a strange manner that causes issues.

Sure! Yes, it can support custom firmware updates to address the bridge problem.

Your budget should cover a solid setup, and you're open to spending a little more for better performance. For switches, consider options that offer flexibility and ease of configuration—Ubiquiti devices can simplify management if you value streamlined setup.
