My opinion is that it’s likely to be taken down, similar to Windows 8, mainly because of the security concerns. Even if you think your software is safe, others will always try to bypass or exploit it. I don’t see much value in using an App Store since I download everything online rather than from a physical store. It probably doesn’t matter to me, but I’m sure some people do use it.

Windows 8 app store was discontinued? That's surprising! I believe it will function similarly to the Windows 8 app store. For mobile devices, it should operate just like any other app store. On desktops, it might see more usage now that users are accustomed to a "store" interface on their PCs, along with improved integration from Microsoft. However, not as much as Microsoft hopes people will adopt it.

Only used my Android devices for apps; I’m unsure if I’ll ever need one in a Windows setup where options feel more straightforward or easier to access. The app store seems to have its own benefits that aren’t found anywhere else.

It seems to remain, and I don’t really have a strong view on it. If popular developers share their projects with smooth updates and clear changelogs, that would be nice. But I wouldn’t expect anything trivial or low-quality from them.

You need something almost broken that won't change much. The official Microsoft site says they stopped the Windows 8 App Store. I’m on Windows 10 now and it works great for games and feels really smooth. Everyone has their own take on this.

I'm using Windows 8 now on my Surface Pro 2, and the new game Hitman Go has just been released. I can confirm for genuine players that the Windows 8 store is functioning properly. I don't know who said otherwise, but that's not true.

I don't find any use for the App Store. Everything you can get off the app store, can be downloaded from the internet. Also, I don't know where you got the statement or fact that you download speed is faster with the Store. Your download speed is download speed. No matter how much you have, anything over 100-150mbps is really overkill because the most you'll get when downloading something is maybe like 20mbps and that's on a good day. I have a 150 down 50 up internet speed, and I see no difference from when I had 20 down 2 up. So it really doesn't matter. Another reason why I have a problem with it is, for programs like Skype and any other programs you have to sign in with that come out on the store, you'll have to use your microsoft account to use the program, I don't like that. I like using my gmail accounts, not my dumbass microsoft account, which hotmail, is horrible. Very slow. Microsoft should just stick with making OS's and stop trying to get into all this media bullshit because it's just bad. But we are all entitled to our own opinions, so who cares what I say right?
