I exclusively use Dolphin to play Super Smash Bros. Melee. I consistently play it without encountering any problems. Launching the ISO repeatedly caused my PC to restart. I attempted this three times, and each time, my PC restarted, accompanied by my fan operating at maximum speed for a few seconds. I am uncertain about the cause of these issues.

Starting any game immediately places a significant load on the CPU and potentially the GPU due to image loading lag. This could lead to an immediate overload of the power supply, causing the PC to restart. I would investigate any loose or overheating power connectors on the motherboard. Subsequently, a PSU replacement should be attempted.

ISO images are not applications; they are representations of disks. Use them to rebuild disks, typically optical disks. Attempt running the Dolphin.exe program instead.

It is now resolved. Updating Windows was the solution. Having used Dolphin for some time, I do not believe a PSU issue is involved. Thank you for your responses; I am still somewhat concerned. Should I mark this as solved?

Glad to hear such an easy remedy resolved your issue.

That is new information to me as well.

Please close the thread for a few days and refrain from revisiting the original problem.

My PC recently restarted and one of my fans became excessively loud briefly, similar to previous occurrences. Instead of restarting immediately upon launching the ISO with Dolphin, it restarted after I closed the Dolphin program following normal gameplay. I am very confused about the potential cause. It was functioning normally for years, having worked correctly for the last two days.

The version of Dolphin you are using may be causing the issue; download the latest developmental branch and test it. Reporting this to the Dolphin developers is also recommended for their input.

This situation is highly unusual as it previously functioned correctly for an extended period. I have hesitated to reactivate it due to concerns about potential damage to my PC, specifically related to crashes and overheating. Further updates will be provided.

A final update. I have been inactive due to work commitments. Yesterday, I launched Black Ops 3, a previously played title without problems. Upon launching the game, it took an extended period to reach the initial menu. Selecting zombies resulted in immediate system crash and restart. A subsequent attempt triggered "jet engine mode." I verified my temperatures, which appear normal; however, I remain uncertain if temperature fluctuations or another hardware issue may be responsible. I will test with Dolphin to assess compatibility.
