It didn't work because the powerline wasn't properly connected or the voltage wasn't sufficient.

Most powerline adapters perform similarly, often causing issues and lagging. They’re mainly a fallback option, and Wi-Fi works better if you set it up correctly.

1) Connect via Ethernet cable straight
2) Employ Moca adapters (costly, requires coax near router and computer)
3) Utilize Powerline adapters (function depends on wiring age and code compliance)
4) Connect via WiFi

ethernet remains the top choice, positioning your router nearer can enhance wifi coverage. an ap might assist alongside a router for better signal. moca and powerline could be effective or not depending on the situation.

Rarely is this true. In about nine out of ten cases, people have installed powerline adapters in homes with solid wiring and achieved nearly full internet speed with consistent performance. However, using cheap or off-brand adapters or poor home wiring can cause significant issues. It’s best to test them yourself—if they function, they do; if not, return them. The person I was talking to didn’t want to run new cable or spend a lot, so I suggested a more affordable alternative that should work if the wiring is decent and the adapter is quality.

Switches introduce very slight delays, around 10s of nanoseconds, without affecting your overall performance.

When using a genuine modem lacking built-in router features, it will assign a public IP address to the initial device that requests it, disregarding others. This can result in your PC or other home devices losing internet access.
