Consider using a separate reset switch if you have one. Disconnect it from the motherboard and test whether the issue resolves. I experienced this problem long ago. It seems the original case had a faulty or overly sensitive reset mechanism. The machine was lying on the floor, and simply stepping on the carpet in front of it triggered the reset button on the front panel. (Don’t worry, my Pentium 4 got a clean start from the side of the case through a plastic container I crafted.)
I figured the same thing too... but why doesn't it react when I shake my table hard or when my girlfriend jumps next to me? I'm starting to feel really crazy.
It's also conceivable. Appreciate the photo; I'd place the PC on the ground.
for more details: i relocated some time back, and this problem existed in the previous home too. the pc isn’t even on my desk, so it doesn’t pick up any movement from my chair when I shift it. we also attempted to shake my girlfriend’s table without success. i can’t recreate the issue using ANNY unless i stand up from my seat—even just a little distance away.
that is important information. Can you force it to shut down? like reproduce it. let your gf take a video of it upload it. and we might come up with something. also if you can reproduce it. replace your usb devices with those of your gf or unplug one by one until we can say it is not because of the usb devices. . want to check the back-plate of your motherboard no pins that is shorting it the moment you get up. is your gf playing a damn good prank on you?
