I’m gradually losing my mind. Here’s what unfolds: every time I stand up, the PC just powers off instantly—no BSOD, no warnings. It’s as if I pressed the reset button on my case. I figured maybe a loose cable or bad connector was the issue, so I started shaking every wire on my PC aggressively. Still nothing happened. Then I suspected something inside the machine was faulty, like a shaky GPU. But when I shook my desk violently, it didn’t react. My girlfriend’s setup nearby can move around without affecting it. Maybe static electricity is the culprit. I tried grounding myself to see if that helped, but it didn’t. Now I’m completely confused—my PC keeps rebooting even when I try very carefully, but my girlfriend’s actions don’t trigger a restart. What’s really going on?

Disconnect external gadgets such as mice, keyboards, headphones, and wireless adapters. Internal connections might be loose. Interference from EMC could occur, though it's less certain.

Wouldn't that cause a restart if I shake everything hard? All of my devices have been shaken extremely forcefully.

Easy fix, stay down! Check Cartman in the Wow series for a reference. It could be a short circuit? Maybe the PSU was swapped? Lucky you have two units—you’d swap parts one at a time to figure it out. Quirky case!

It seems there might be an issue that causes a response to activate or shorten upon strong shaking, similar to what happened before.

I understand your concerns. Would the chair sit well under the desk? When you move in and out, does it cause the desk to shake? I’d consider switching to a different power source or using an open bench to rule out any electrical issues.

It makes sense that it isn't related to a hardware issue. My chair provides ample space beneath my desk, and the only contact with my desk is my arms.

I've linked a different power supply unit, but the problem persists. ;_;

Static might be causing an issue. Where exactly is your PC located? On the floor or on a table? I’d try moving it to my desk and see if the problem persists.

PC remains on the table with rubber feet. I even moved my chair away so there was a decent gap between me and the desk. Still, it kept rebooting.
