Like helpstar suggests you should use a DVD or USB drive for a clean install of Windows, ensuring it has more than 4GB of storage. They recommend adjusting the boot settings in BIOS to boot from the drive, which would let your PC run Windows. If this works, it indicates that the cleaning process removed files you shouldn’t have deleted. Once inside Windows, you can transfer data from the damaged drive to another available drive if there’s enough space. You could then reformat the faulty drive and reinstall Windows again, restoring everything as before but with data from the other drive. 😀
Brett_Uk shared tips about needing a DVD/USB drive for a clean Windows installation, suggesting a minimum of 4GB storage. They mentioned adjusting boot settings in BIOS to use the drive and potentially recovering data from a damaged disk. The person also expressed frustration over losing files and considered selling parts for a prebuilt system instead.
Thanks. But now I need to wait for the order to ship so I can remove the files from the main drive and save them before they're deleted. Honestly, I'm considering selling the parts and getting a prebuilt. I have some items I can sell to get the money needed to buy the prebuilt while keeping a few parts. It's really frustrating to make Windows run the way I want. I think it's best to leave the experts to handle it.
Well, maybe if you hadn't "cleaned" your gear, it would have worked just fine, I think. 😉
