You mentioned the exact motherboard model. Did you also include the memory type or specifications for its compatibility check? It might help confirm if it's officially supported.

I'll check it, but since it isn't on their compatibility list, I'm confused—why would one piece fit while the other wouldn't?

Well, if we're talking about just the new one, there's also the possibility that the stick is DoA somehow. If you can still return it, may as well return it. If you can get a refund, get a refund instead. Buy a 2x8gb instead, since you'll get more performance if it's running on dual channel. Mixing, well, their frequency and timing is vastly different. At the very least for the freq part. No point buying a 4000mhz ram too if you're just gonna end up reducing them to your old ram spec.

They function independently when alone, which is why it's causing confusion. I'm pretty sure they aren't DoA, and after checking, they seem to fit my motherboard as well. If you agree with what you said, I can process a refund for two items at eight dollars each.

I didn’t intend to imply it’s resolved, but they work together. They’re suggesting I return the money and receive two $8 bills, which I could consider.

Support for @Poinkachu aligns with the idea of 2 x 8GB being preferable to 1 x 16GB. You mentioned wanting to integrate additional modules, suggesting a mix of new and existing components. This could lead to compatibility challenges, but for an Intel system, placing slots 1 and 3 on the Corsair while using slot 2 for the newer module helps maintain consistent dual-channel performance. I’ve noticed problems with version mismatches in Corsair DIMMS even when they match the same version, so I’m hesitant to purchase Corsair memory right now due to past RMA issues in older Quad Channel configurations.

I'm not pairing them with the older RAM, I've got two 16GB sticks at 4000MHz. The old Corsair ones are fine, but I'm sure they cap the frame rate. Upgrading to these gives me about 100fps more with my 3080 and less stuttering.

You already own two sticks of this product, so no refund needed. Your initial message mentioned a 16GB single module, which led us to believe it was one 16GB DDR4 RAM stick. With the updated details, I want to explain: your motherboard's CPU and RAM LED lights up when you install two sticks of the new RAM, but you can't enter POST mode. But with just one stick installed, everything works properly. Is that correct?

I thought the "single module" part meant swapping two sticks for one. So your system can test slot 1 and 3 for dual-channel mode, then move to slots 1 and 2 if needed. If that doesn’t work, try slots 4 as a backup. After that, run four Memtest passes on each stick to check for faults.
