Modem refuses to establish a direct connection.
Using the switch? I've connected the modem to it, my PC, and the airport.
1. Which modem version are we discussing?
2. If it's a standalone device, it assigns one IP address to the first request and stops responding to others; additional devices require a reboot for a new assignment.
3. What rate of internet connection are you receiving?
4. Which airport model are you using, and what speeds do you observe during a connection?
it doesn't mention I searched for it all the time; i can't locate it on the modem—it came from our ISP, model 3.50 Mbps, though it's advertised as 60. It's the latest version (not sure right away). Using it connects to about 15 Mbps over wired and around 2 Mbps over 5GHz wireless.
Which CAT level Ethernet cable are you employing? It seems unusual, but it’s possible the issue is causing delays in your network.
Connect the device to the airport's second Ethernet connection. Device->Airport->Switch.
