If you possess a public IP from your ISP, it works well. However, mobile networks typically employ CG-NAT, which prevents a direct public IP. That's why a VPN is necessary to bypass this limitation.

UniFi's remote NVR access typically works through its cloud services. Since you're not using an NVR yourself, the issue shouldn't arise. I've experienced similar situations with sites behind CG-NAT without problems.

Some providers like Tmobile, which I've used personally, restrict 5G home/business connections to their own devices. If you use third-party equipment, you'd need a gateway that can handle IMEI spoofing. Their systems also include GPS functionality, meaning if you don't want your location tracked, the gateway should support or mimic GPS signals. Regarding TMO's offerings: businesses usually receive G4AR/G4SE devices, while Inseego FX3100 models are typically paired with Sagemcom 5688W or similar based on your plan. I'm using the Sagemcom version, which operates at a higher temperature than other home units. The FX3100 and other third-party options aren't clear to me. TMO's gateways list detailed specs on their website if you look them up. For custom builds like those from Chestertechrepairs, some include active cooling fans.

These options are available for rent, but there may be specific reasons you prefer not to use this method.
