The project requires a mobile camera trailer for job sites, using Unifiy cameras and NVR equipment. A mobile router is available, but only supports 4G. Seeking recommendations for 5G routers that can support remote footage viewing.

They might require high detail or just a general overview. Color visibility isn't essential unless specified.

Ensure machines or materials are intact, then adjust the PTZ cameras you planned to use. Color specifications must be met.

Consider discussing this with your mobile service provider. Usually, for third-party modems, it's best to check if your ISP maintains a directory of supported devices or if there are specific requirements you need to meet.

It seems like you're considering a suggestion about ubiquity, but it's unclear what you mean. Could you clarify your thoughts?

couldn't you simply play at a very slow speed (like 1 frame per second) and save a local cache of higher quality for up to 24 or 48 hours? that way you can grab parts of the video when needed, even if mobile data isn't reliable or expensive. but if you need enough content to notice events, pick the best segments and let the transfer happen at its own pace.

This sounds like a setup you could manage using Unifi tools. You’d likely rely on video streaming for regular site updates, with recordings stored in an NVR that you can access when needed.

They likely intended for local storage with remote camera access when needed.

Are you certain the 5G coverage is independent? All the networks I’ve tried have been NSR, which essentially means uploading would still rely on 4G, so there’s no real advantage to switching to 5G for your setup. Additionally, keep in mind that mobile connections are typically CG-NAT, meaning you’ll likely need a relay or VPN service such as Tailscale to connect to the NVR remotely.

Ubiquity lets you access cameras and recordings from anywhere without needing a VPN.
