It's not advised, though it can be attempted. Your RAM speed will be restricted to the slowest stick, for example, even if higher quality sticks are available.

I currently rely on a setup with varied RAM modules from multiple makers, each at distinct speeds. Most functions operate smoothly, but occasionally apps may fail—like when memory runs out—and you might encounter a rare MEMORY_MANAGEMENT crash screen.
