Mistakes appear constantly while attempting to update OS X
I just got a Macbook Air model A1304. It works fine for basic web browsing, but support is limited since it only runs OS X Lion (10.8.5). I followed Apple’s official guide on updating OS X, checked the compatibility list carefully, and am 100% confident my machine is supported. Still, the same error keeps appearing when trying to download updates from the App Store. I’ve tried every available tutorial on how to resolve this issue, but nothing helps. Please...help...me...Thanks!
I provided a response that meets the criteria with a score of 0/10.
I submit the App Store with a score of zero. The message reads clearly: "We couldn't finish your request. An error occurred in the App Store. Please try again later." No codes, just that text and an "OK" button.
Press Cmd+R at startup to reinstall the operating system that came with your Mac. Once reinstalled, you can upgrade to any version you prefer after the system restarts.
I considered recommending downloading the installer and creating a USB from within it, but even the App Store isn’t functioning properly for me. This is unusual since I previously recovered my MacBook Pro 2012 and successfully downloaded the installer to make a USB drive. For clarity, my MacBook model is MBP with version 9.0.1 (A1286) or 10.6/10.7. What would be most useful is knowing your specific model ID—like A1304 for 2008/2009 Air models. The EMC code differs, but these won’t work past OS X 10.11.6. If you’re aiming for Sierra or High Sierra, that won’t be possible. I’m aware Apple doesn’t list older versions on the App Store, so you’ll need alternative methods. I don’t think we should discuss those options here, as I was looking into your possible models while researching.
It's an 1.8" SSD from eBay. Apple states their OS X El Capitan supports it, though performance may be limited. They mention newer software compatibility and that macOS uses a lot of RAM, which could affect speed.
It seems you're referring to a model from around 2009. Could you clarify what you mean by "so yours"? I'm here to help with any questions or details you have!
