Minimal frame rate in CSGO despite good hardware
I captured this image, but it's unclear what's going on. I'm running at 60 frames per second and using almost no GPU power.
You require 300fps because it ensures smooth performance even with demanding settings, while your monitor only supports 165fps. Playing for a long time with heavy shaders and assets can still strain the CPU.
You can feel the difference even if your monitor cant display more than 165 frames, with 300fps theres just soo much less input lagg and its much much smoother, like in CS:GO you do need that extra, and answering your last question, that was like second match, its not the shaders loading but even if they were, pls just say that with that spec fortnite shouldnt be running flawless, actually I will look up a video with the same specs: here, exact same specs no problem running fortnite I have 100%CPU ut. at low settings
I put in MSI afterburner and Rivatuner static server. I adjusted the graphics to maximum for Fortnite, but I have no clue what’s happening. On my second monitor, the GPU percentage is extremely low—almost none used. Yet Rivatuner shows 97% usage. What’s going on? Now we’re facing two issues: at low graphics settings, CPU is at 100%, and at high graphics, GPU usage is too high. What’s really happening?
Task Manager sometimes gives misleading overall usage stats. Your recent comment mentions around 100% CPU while the in-game monitor shows only 62%, and similarly for GPU. The same applies to your thermals—your settings are within limits but the hotspot is near 60°C. What are your CS:GO configurations? Are you utilizing all cores? How are your storage temperatures? Throttling seems to be the most effective solution since performance drops gradually despite good FPS. Apologies for the delayed response; it was around 3 AM when I checked.
I understand the concern. My NVMe SSD is 1TB, and I notice it tends to slow down over time. It seems to start with issues, possibly related to heat. I’m not sure if this is due to thermal throttling or something else. From what I see on HWmonitor, during games it spikes to 75-79W, then drops back to around 50W after a short while. But when I run Fortnite with low graphics, it hits 80°C with full CPU load and only uses 60% CPU, which is unusual. I don’t have any way to confirm if this is normal behavior or if it’s throttling. I’m curious to know what’s causing this pattern.
Make sure you see the CPU stats individually for each core. This definitely points to a CPU constraint. And, the range around 200–300 is actually considered low.
