You've already experimented, so you'll need to accept some trade-offs. Whether you're comfortable with them depends entirely on you. Steam, the main gaming option for Linux, is solid until issues arise, after which fixing them becomes difficult.

Received a boost from Linux developers and positive feedback from their teams. Possibly the solution is in their hands. The share of the OS market for Microsoft could drop significantly. >.>
