Memory errors
Memory errors
Hey! I started assembling the PC about four days ago and have been facing some issues lately. There have been several BSODs, game crashes, and problems with the Radeon Adrenalin drivers. In just two days I experienced six BSODs, plus around fifteen random program crashes. The crashes often led to screen glitches, which made it hard to read the error messages. I ran memory tests and Memtest86+, but they all showed errors. At first I thought the CPU’s Performance Curve Optimizer setting at -20 might be causing instability. For the second test, I left it on AUTO while running Memtest86+, and the number of errors jumped from about five in under an hour to 1500 in just one minute. It’s unclear whether the issue is with the memory or the CPU. I’m not sure what to do next—leaving the optimizer auto would prevent me from booting at all, instead it crashes and reports a Windows driver error, telling me to repair Windows. My system specs are: RAM – 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6000MHz; CPU – Ryzen 5 7600X; Motherboard – Asus TUF B650-PLUS WiFi; BIOS – 1616 (latest non-beta); GPU – XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 6950XT. Thanks!
Using just one stick passes all tests smoothly when EXPO is active, but adding two might impact stability with EXPO.
It should be fine. When a single stick is functioning, you might want to check by swapping it out or using it in other slots to determine if it's faulty.
I used every stick in each position separately during the Memtest86+ run with a complete pass and EXPO turned on. All tests completed successfully without any issues.
I’m running low on ideas. Each channel is separate, so there should be no issues. If it’s related to AMD, I’ll let other users assist further.
Don't worry, thank you for your assistance! I've chosen to exchange the two sticks and purchase new ones from G.Skill since these are compatible with my motherboard's memory chart, whereas the Corsair ones aren't. It seems like a peculiar problem with this motherboard and the Corsair sticks. I'll share an update once they arrive and try them out.
