macOS, Windows 10, Linux — different operating systems for your needs.
Common sense protects me while online, I avoid risky sites and suspicious clicks. Up until now, I've only used Windows Defender on Windows 10. I favor Windows over any other system I've tried.
I work on Linux for programming and school projects. The main reason is the desktop feels much smoother than Windows. I can quickly switch between tasks, which is great for multitasking. Interestingly, I used Linux for gaming too. At first I didn’t play games there, but now I have several Mac users on my Steam list and can only play multiplayer on Linux or Mac. (The game is Company of Heroes 2 and doesn’t support cross-platform play.) This makes it hard for me to go back to Windows.
Similar to wasab but I set up a Windows 10 KVM with GPU pass-through on my system. This means I can run Windows-specific apps without restarting into Windows while using Linux. Linux feels significantly more secure when you apply Mandatory Access Control (SELinux) compared to Windows' Mandatory Integrity Control. Programming-wise, Linux keeps headers neatly in /usr/include whereas Windows tends to clutter things. With Nix Package Manager, you get a built-in rollback option—if an update fails, you can revert easily. To be honest, I don’t like Windows and plan to reduce its use in the next couple of years thanks to cross-platform tools like LLVM/Clang.
I've mostly used OSX, macOS, and Windows, but performance varies with different tasks. For gaming on Windows, I switched to Windows-only for easier portability. MacOS remains ideal for productivity thanks to its clean interface and strong Apple hardware support. Video encoding runs faster on macOS, though other factors might play a role. I really enjoy macOS but wish it had more compatibility options.
