I really need your assistance since my 2014 MacBook Air is causing me trouble. Setting up Windows 10 works but it freezes on first boot, especially when loading the wheel. Restarting forces restarts and it says the installation isn't complete. I saved the image to a 32GB USB stick using Rufus, which is a Windows 10 21H2 image. I also tested Windows 7 and XP, but they didn’t boot at all. Windows 11 setup started but then got stuck on a black screen with "Setup is starting." and no USB activity. I tried installing Ubuntu Studio, and that worked. Please help me out! Thanks!

You're choosing Rufus for simplicity, so we'll stick with a standard W10 ISO. Let Boot Camp Assistant handle the rest.

I don’t want to reinstall macOS just to wipe it out once more

Windows 11 is now running smoothly, but I hope it behaves differently than version 10.

I've also used BootCamp before but it didn't work.

You're asking about setting up Windows on a Mac. It's definitely a complex process, especially with Apple Silicon chips. While it might seem challenging now, there are ways to achieve this. The idea behind Hackintosh is to run non-MacOS operating systems, but it requires technical knowledge and can have compatibility issues.

2014 MBA stands for Intel. Apple does not support dual booting Windows and macOS using preloaded BootCamp Assistant.

Windows 10 and 11 may stop functioning properly. The loading indicator isn't rotating.

Macs usually come with a few special Apple parts that Windows doesn’t support. Bootcamp Assistant adds the necessary drivers into the Windows setup before you start, so everything functions properly. You’ll probably need to follow the instructions carefully.

Hackintosh involves operating Mac OS on a system that doesn’t require purchasing Apple equipment.
