Here are some affordable LGA 1150 motherboards suitable for your i5 4690K, along with options that allow overclocking at a lower price:

- **ASUS TUF Gaming B660M-X** – Budget-friendly, supports overclocking, solid performance.
- **MSI MEG B660M** – Good value, compatible with overclocking, decent build quality.
- **Gigabyte B460M Pro** – Affordable, works well for gaming and light overclocking.
- **Corsair Vengeance LPX B660M** – Slightly higher specs but still budget-friendly, supports overclocking.

These models balance cost and functionality while offering overclocking capabilities.

The easiest option is to purchase a basic OEM PC—it will function with your Windows license. Skip the overclocking; consider a Z87 board if you aim to boost performance. Checking fleaBay shows many models available for $50 to $100.

All LGA 1150 boards have been discontinued, making price comparisons irrelevant since MSRP no longer applies. The best deal is likely what you discover second-hand on platforms like eBay or from nearby sellers. Naturally, the vintage enthusiast models such as Asus ROG Maximus may command higher prices, but overall it's uncertain.

I've noticed enthusiasts often buy old boards for surprisingly low prices, such as Z97 Maximus Rangers for $30-40 when fully functional, and I even acquired a GA-Z87X-OC for my collection at $25. The only thing that stays steady about these prices is their unpredictable nature.

For official OC Z87 and Z97 builds, B85 H87 and H97 may work when flashed to a Z BIOS, but I need to verify myself because I've only tested H55 → P55 on my H55M-LX which functions. Otherwise, you're likely looking at subpar H81 or OEM boards for the cheapest option. B85 H87 and H97 are better suited for a cheaper overclocking path, though flashing is time-consuming on boards without socketed BIOS (most non-Assorex/Asus models). Z87/97 are expensive enough that selling your 4690K might be smarter than buying a used Ryzen 1st or 2nd gen combo.

Looking for budget-friendly options? Estimates vary, but you can find good deals on z-motherboards without breaking the bank. Not everyone has access to the latest models.

You won’t have sufficient funds to purchase a CPU and motherboard together. They are currently priced around thirty dollars each.

It really comes down to the location and the specific marketplace you use. In many areas, FB Marketplace, Craigslist, eBay, OfferUp, or Mercari offer the best opportunities, while others like Kijiji or other second-hand sites might be more common. What works depends on where you're based.

Fuck about here in the lower rungs of society living in LA think they’re the worst trash in the game. They have the worst VR models and it all costs around fifty bucks.
