Hey there, fellow geeks. I've got a puzzling situation on my hands. I bought a server with these specs... Mobo : B40M DS3H (rev 1.x), CPU : Ryzen 3400G, PSU : Fractal ion 560, CASE : Fractal Node 804, Storage : 500gb M.2 and 8x 4TB drives, OS : TrueNAS Scale. I updated the firmware to F64, upgraded to a Ryzen 5800X with an RTX 2060, and swapped the PSU to Seasonic Focus Plus 650. It worked perfectly for months. Recently, I went back to the original setup—3400G, no GPU, 560 PSU—and it’s not booting. I’ve reset the CMOS multiple times, tested the HDMI connection (not DVI yet), connected the GPU directly, and even tried different CMOS settings and outputs, but nothing happens. The hardware powers on and everything seems to have enough voltage, yet the display stays blank. I even connected it to the LAN to check if it would show up on my network, but it doesn’t. Got any ideas or tips? Any clue?
The bios doesn<|pad|>, doesn't match the cpus you have, so you might have made a mistake. You could try re-flashing it.
I don't recognize it. I haven't encountered a newer BIOS that doesn't work with older CPUs. The settings might be misaligned. Edited January 15, 2024 by leclod
You seem unfamiliar with the content you share, do you? The removal of older CPU support was handled by boards with 32MB EEPROM, not these. The newest BIOS now supports Picasso CPUs.
What’s the issue? It seems there’s a BIOS problem affecting his PC. He might need to try a different setup method.
Consider additional troubleshooting steps before reaching extreme conclusions. Suggesting a BIOS downgrade when the CPU appears questionable is risky. If the downgrade works but the CPU remains unresponsive, they may end up with a nonfunctional machine.
