Well, more folks are responding without checking the specific subforum. Not too shocked after all. As everyone noted, the game seems impressive now, but its alpha phase clearly shows it isn’t fully optimized yet. Expect further updates, new features, and additional models as development continues. Optimization typically comes later once the game stabilizes. For Star Citizen, this means you’ll likely see similar performance at higher resolutions.

Or try adding 2 or 3 more 980Tis. That should help a little. Or maybe not.. Not sure if there's any support for SLI in SC.... ;D

Others have already shared their observations: the slow frame rate you're seeing comes from the server side, not the client. On lightly loaded setups (just a few players), performance improves compared to full servers with many participants (like 24 players). I don’t know the exact size of the Crusader region in the universe, but it’s quite extensive. Whatever is happening across any part of that space can affect multiple clients. If you’re spawning near Port Olisar and fighting at Kareah, both parties receive updates about everything happening nearby. This setup is highly inefficient. Each of the 24 clients doesn’t need to be aware of every action by the other 23 during each update. CIG should develop a method to create an "Area of Interest" for each client, sharing only relevant information within that zone. However, this adds complexity and could increase desynchronization, so it must be handled thoughtfully. Unfortunately, this is the reality of the situation. There are many discussions about this on CIG’s Star Citizen website.

Nothing altered yet. Just don’t install it merely to witness this poor, endless alpha performance. I’m hoping it won’t turn into the next DN4E.
