DayZ Standalone behaves in a comparable way to what I experience. This is probably due to AMD CPUs struggling with single-threaded tasks, especially games, and ARMA being a demanding application on your system. It could also be related to your GPU, though at the lowest settings it runs smoothly on most 2GB and higher GPUs that are newer. The 7000 series isn't drastically different from the 300(X) lineup.

poor threading efficiency in a single thread

this indicates significant lag or slowdown when processing tasks one after another without parallel execution.

AMD processors can be slow even though they have quick clock speeds. They handle fewer operations per cycle, which makes them feel sluggish. Increasing the frequency helps somewhat, but it rarely reaches the performance of top Intel chips.

Great, since my motherboard is from AMD only, I can't even purchase a new CPU right now—I have to upgrade the whole system later. That’s okay; at least I know what to prioritize for my next PC. My friends often tease me about having an AMD CPU, but I’m not letting that stop me. I’m wondering if there are any plans for the new NFS coming in November and whether it will support Doom in Q1/Q2. I’m still figuring out when I’ll be able to buy a new machine, so thanks for the advice!

My PC is generally solid by common standards, often maintaining around 30 FPS. Bohemia Interactive didn’t focus much on optimization, which might explain its performance on older models like the i3 and 560Ti.

I’d receive a refund and purchase Arma II. It performs better and delivers a true DayZ experience.

Fortunately, I managed to get a refund from Steam, though it's disappointing—the gameplay mechanics really captured my interest. Just need to win a lottery and buy a massive ultra-super computer, thanks for the help!

I play Arma 3 on a 2500k system running ultra at 60 frames per second using a 970 graphics card.
