I simply updated the Wii in 2009 and moved all my games to an external hard drive. It also eliminates the need for adapters on my controllers.

We won't see a reliable PS3 emulator for many years due to its unusual hardware. I enjoyed the PS3 and its strong performance before I entered the #gloriouspcgamingmasterrace. #firstworldproblems I appreciate Dolphin's stability, but some titles still have issues.

I tried GCube before Dolphin, but it was only for GameCube. I haven't looked back since then.

It was essential to have my favorite titles on PC after growing up as a console gamer, and I relied on PC for work until emulation software changed everything. GCube was the first one, followed by all the emulators I now use.

Emulators generally prioritize single-core speed, making it likely that nearly all modern i3, i5, and i7 models can run most games. AMD manages some titles but struggles more. Xenia is a project aimed at Xbox 360 emulation and already supports a few games like Minecraft. It appears to progress faster than RPCS3, which is disappointing given the demand for titles like Red Dead. The FX-8350 handles these well, offering solid performance.

Consider constructing an additional machine featuring a G3258 with its nuts adjusted for higher performance and a GTX 750 Ti. This setup could also serve as a LAN emulator, which would be exciting. :')

In fact, the only questionable items are the BIOS and ROMs, while the emulator itself is perfectly fine.

Breaking copyright rules would be a violation, but accessing ROMs online crosses into piracy territory. Emulating software is risky legally, even though the act of emulation itself might be more acceptable. We’re safe enough on that front, at least.

Dolphin offers a solid emulator experience, letting you enjoy classic titles without needing an old console or purchasing a new one. You can enhance image quality and, if you're lucky, find community discussions about updated texture packs. Although it struggles with low-definition textures, it supports texture dumping and file loading, enabling custom textures. Xenoblade Chronicles, despite its issues with the Wii’s hardware, looks significantly improved after upscaling to 4K using the extensive texture packs available on forums. Monster Hunter Tri is another recommendation if you enjoy Dolphin, as it delivers a strong Monster Hunter feel on weaker systems once upscaled. For better performance, an upgraded Intel CPU is advised, and PCSX2 works well for PlayStation 2 emulation. Other solid options include Primal, Dark Cloud/Chronicles, Klonoa 2, and Drakenguard when upscaled.

The G3258 is an ideal CPU for emulation, really like it. I’m thinking about building a cube PC myself, possibly using an old PS2 case or a Gcube case. Seems pretty cool!
