I chose to dive into a bit of emulation this week. Mostly I aimed to enjoy one of my favorite Nintendo games – and maybe even a classic – The Legend of Zelda. Since it isn’t natively available on PC, I explored the emulation subreddit, asked a question, and did some research. Suddenly it was easy to find what I needed. For anyone with an old Wii and Wii games, I highly suggest giving it a try. Check out this article and everything will be clear. https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comme...o_i_start/

By the way, some might wonder why not play it on the Wii. My answers are: I borrowed the LOZ files from a friend, I can’t keep them all, and they’re conveniently stored on my hard drive for immediate access. You can adjust the in-game graphics for better quality. Right now I’m running The Wind Waker at 4:3 1440p at around 30 fps with no stutters or drops – though it’s not ideal on my system. It’s straightforward, affordable (just about £20 for the SD card, reader, and Bluetooth dongle), and performs well.

It might need a lot of energy, but not necessarily.

They're developing a PS3 emulator, though its performance is quite poor. Sounds like they're using Dolphin?

that is illegal right now because sony/Microsoft still claim profit rights to those platforms. so you could potentially be in trouble with it if anyone cares enough No one cares about the older consoles though.

It works really well. In fact, The Wind Waker is considered one of the most efficiently optimized titles for Dolphin. Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword still face some issues (though I've only tested The Wind Waker so far).

That's the top choice I've heard about.

It's disappointing the Wii U hasn't been fully emulated yet (and it's far from a functional version). :c

It seems the Wii U is likely to receive a reliable emulator first, possibly a bit later than the PS3.

Nice find, but you're running into some tough issues with certain titles. The PS2 emulator works well for classic games like Kingdom Hearts, but some older or more demanding titles tend to cause serious graphics problems and slow down a lot.
