Looking for help locating drivers for an old digital camcorder?
I possess a Panasonic PV-GS9 Mini DV Camcorder that I recently discovered without converting it to digital. Windows 11 treats the camcorder as a DVS device but cannot locate the necessary drivers, and I have been unable to find any drivers anywhere. What options do I have at this stage? Would installing an additional HDD and using Windows 7 help the system identify drivers?
You can proceed with using the device now. Does your system support a FireWire connection?
I discovered the following connection:
https://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/sup...c_usb.html
It might assist in locating additional references or links.
But proceed with extreme caution when visiting any connections related to manuals and/or drivers.
Such sites often contain numerous threats, including malware and fake alerts.
I've worked with numerous Hi-8 and VHS tapes across different Windows versions. My findings suggest using a digital converter device to link the camcorder or VHS player to your computer. I own the latest version of Honestech 8.0 VHS to DVD converter (the company has closed), which functions well. It comes with its own drivers and integrates with Windows. Other video conversion tools exist, but they usually require paid software. I haven't tried any yet, so I can't suggest a specific one. If you search online for "convert analog video to digital," you'll find many choices.
Best regards,
Phil
Have you attempted searching for "mini usb to rca video cable" online?
I just tried it, and such cables do exist which could address your problem.
I hope this is useful. Have a great day.
