Looking for an immersive FPS with a compelling narrative? Here are some titles you might enjoy: Metro 2033, Stalker series, Bioshock, and ME series. These games offer rich stories and deep experiences, especially if you miss campaign modes in multiplayer titles. Let me know if you'd like more suggestions!

I'm going to stick with this pattern, since it's the latest enjoyable title I've tried. Most recently, the most entertaining game I played was Nier.

Previously, "PREY" featured an intriguing narrative. Those early Halo titles are enjoyable without it, though the first three games are quite entertaining. After that, Splinter Cell offers a solid experience, maintaining a third-person perspective while delivering a compelling story.

Looking at the Crysis series, I'm starting to notice how rare FPS titles and overall gaming experiences have been these past two decades.
