Many favor controllers instead of keyboards or mice for titles such as Witcher III and CS:GO. The top options include models designed for fast reflexes and precise control in those genres.
I mainly use the Xbox 360 for all other games except RTS titles. The top pick would be the Xbox One Elite Controller, though it's pricey for my budget. I stick with the Xbox 360 for more affordable options.
I primarily rely on my PS3 controller for racing games or occasional gaming sessions. I also use the mouse and keyboard. In the near future, I plan to switch entirely to using just the mouse and keyboard with my upcoming G27.
