I gave it a shot... My friend’s account had a tricky Silver II game. It still worked out. Plus, I haven’t updated much—often hit that same issue in B-Tunnels on Dust II.
Most players today don't use them, yet there was a time when controllers were essential for playing random titles. Games like Skyrim felt very basic on the default version, and controllers offered extra features such as adjustable sensitivity, which is important in certain titles.
In reality, even digital systems wouldn't require analog, yet analog controllers still offer a straightforward fix for several problems.
The 360 controller and mouse works perfectly. It’s confusing why some people prefer using a keyboard with four directional keys. (Back in the day I played Unreal Tournament with a Logitech Wingman and a mouse.) I’m not sure where the controller fits anymore, but chances are it’s no longer supported. I’ve never used a One controller and don’t feel the need to buy one. My wired 360 setup is fine.
The main reason I chose the One controller was for multiplayer. If you're getting a new controller, I'd suggest the One model along with a micro USB cable. It offers more tactile buttons and a less slippery analog stick. The d-pad is also much better. I also like how it fits comfortably in my hands. IMO
I understand your perspective. I appreciate different viewpoints. The One controller seems to offer some benefits compared to the 360's previous version. It works well for us, and my child uses it occasionally as well. It remains fully functional, so replacing it isn't necessary at the moment.
Logitech controllers. They have awesome and easy-to-use drivers with support, so it's easy and fun to actually bind and use them STEAM CONTROLLER! Anyone hyped?
People have unique preferences, so I rely on a controller for racing and fighting titles, occasionally opting for shooters or third-person experiences such as Batman or Shadow of Mordor. I also use a controller for emulating games.
