It seems like you're asking about the timing of updates and whether a 10-year gap between versions affects compatibility. If the subject doesn't match your needs, you're free to ignore my suggestions.

Again, it's really naive to think two random machines cover all the millions of PC setups that existed over time without any details. This is like proposing a solution for any car based purely on guesswork with no real understanding of vehicles or the fix. Most people solve problems using specific information about their issue. Your approach... (testing an unknown wireless card on unknown devices to address an unknown network problem) isn't usually useful to most.

What models are your computers? Are you sure your internet provider is reliable? Which WiFi adapter are you using? I’ve installed a TP-Link WN821 on several desktops and laptops.

They keep supporting USB 2.0 because it remains useful for many devices and users. Even in 2023, compatibility matters for everyday needs. Let us hear your thoughts if you have any.

The problem seems linked to the USB to WiFi adapter, as the motherboard components appear consistent. I switched from a TP-Link WN823N to an Archer dongle, but the issue persisted due to an incorrect USB type.

since they cost less and require fewer resources for devices that don’t need USB 3, I’m uncertain why USB 2 is preferred over USB 3 for your setup. It seems like the proper functioning ports aren’t supposed to work this way, but if it does, it’s fine—just focus on what works for you.

USB 3 requires more resources because it supports faster data transfer speeds and higher bandwidth. High-end motherboards often include USB 2 controllers to ensure compatibility with older devices, but this doesn’t mean they’re unnecessary—they’re needed for a balanced setup. It’s not just about plugging in; it’s about meeting the needs of both modern and legacy hardware.

They're talking about water overflowing. That's why they're on your board—just slide the square into the square slot, though it might not fit through the round one.
