I might seem new, but I’m curious if someone can guide me through finding and installing a Linux kernel safely. Since I’m comfortable with coding, I just need tips on where to get it without risks.

Would you like the kernel or the entire operating system? I'll go to the link you provided. After that, use a tool like Rufus to create a USB drive and install it. Once installed, you can add your games.

I’d choose Linux Mint because it offers great capabilities such as time shift, which creates a snapshot of the root directory so you can revert changes if needed. It’s the preferred option for my workplace.

Which GPU do you have? We might offer some suggestions about it as well... I guess people keep recommending Rufus because I usually use etcher.io for Linux live USB builds.

It's a matter of personal preference; both methods are effective. I also favor using Etcher since I enjoy its interface, though I often download the ISO onto my phone and then employ DriveDroid.
