My laptop has been acting up lately, showing noticeable stuttering and occasional video glitches. I resolved it by turning off Intel Turbo Boost with ThrottleStop. I decided to check the system logs using hwinfo. The data shows that when Intel boost is active, my core clock drops sharply—from around 3.6 to just 0.8 MHz for a brief moment—while without boost it stays steady at about 2.7 MHz with no interruptions. The temperatures stayed within normal ranges, maxing out at 62°C. There are no other notable changes in the logs compared to my regular performance. I prefer avoiding third-party tools for this and am still trying to figure out the root cause.
When you notice 0.8 GHz, check Limit Reasons for BD PROCHOT throttling. This issue is frequent. You should use ThrottleStop to turn off BD PROCHOT on the main display. EDIT: Noticed that the clock speed drops depend on what I'm doing on.. For example: Playing Diablo 3 - I get no stutter/audio pops with or without turbo. Checked with HWinfo, clock speeds are roughly the same, youtube - clock speed drops to 2.5 - 2.7 and some audio pops. Same with netflix Grim dawn: Clock speed drops to 0.8, stutters a LOT and its super noticable. Heh no idea whats up with that,.
Leave HWiNFO and share ThrottleStop images during throttling. Activate Speed Shift in the TPL window and remove the BD PROCHOT box on the main screen. Lenovo has tried various throttling techniques over time. These issues are generally straightforward to fix.

Are you still experiencing this issue? After completing the tests, exit ThrottleStop so it can finalize the log file and attach your log to the next message you send. Verify the High Performance option on the main ThrottleStop display to activate the Windows High Performance power plan.
