Hello, I own an ASUS P9X79 with an i7 4930K, dual RAM modules, a 280X Vapor-X, and a Seasonic S12II 620 watt power supply. When I turn it on, the board lights up in a series of red phases and ends with the Boot device LED staying red without any POST. The monitor switches to power save mode right away, regardless of whether I connect my SATA drives. Removing the battery for a full day didn’t resolve the issue. Any suggestions? I removed the battery for an entire day, but did you also disconnect the computer? As long as power reaches the system, it won’t reset the CMOS. For troubleshooting, it’s best to leave the battery out completely until it functions. Try using only one RAM DIMM and test different slots, along with DIMMs. Keep the SSD unplugged and/or experiment with various SATA ports and cables.
I also took the power off. I repeated the process but it didn't work. I swapped in an 8GB Kingston Hyper X RAM, yet the system still won't start. I left the SSD disconnected and experimented with various SATA connections and cables. What should I try next?
I think the motherboard or CPU might be faulty. You could test other power supplies and GPUs, putting everything together separately. Make sure all power connectors are secure. I've noticed odd behavior before—sometimes the case itself stops a system from starting. Also, swap out the monitor and GPU connections, using different cables if needed. Anything you can do should be tried, even if it seems unusual. It's frustrating when your CPU lacks integrated graphics, making troubleshooting harder.
I removed everything from the case and tried connecting another SATA cable, but there’s still no signal. It seems like something might be faulty. This issue has happened before, yet it always resolved itself. I’m unsure whether my CPU or motherboard is the problem.
