Today I’ll explain how to handle RAM shortage using a 771 CPU and a 775 motherboard with DDR2 RAM. First, purchase the CPU—there are affordable options on eBay, such as the Xeon X5270 for around $38.99. Next, get the motherboard at a similar price, like the one priced at $19.99. Then, find RAM; it can be tricky due to shortages, but you might locate a 4GB 2X2GB stick for about $14.99. After that, modify the CPU to fit the 775 socket by rotating it 90 degrees and swapping pins A3 and A5 with a pencil or small adapter found on eBay for roughly $4.39. Finally, choose a GPU based on your needs, though some boards may require a BIOS update to boot properly.
You can find full office machines at lower prices, not to mention the RPI5 16G with a MSRP of $205.
Why would someone pay such a high price for something so outdated? It’s still $80 for an i5 4th gen with 16GB RAM, which is barely keeping up with basic tasks. On eBay, it’s like six times faster than the cheap processors that barely function these days.
@SundaySilence69 LOL... the mobile unit is quite exclusive. Hope you can locate a compatible case. None of this board follows typical setups. As long as you're spending time on eBay, what about a refurbished system ready for a few extra dollars? https://www.ebay.com/itm/127628713553?_s...UOy5h76EZw https://www.ebay.com/itm/277131432681?_t...1c978fd4a7
